Alan Joseph Guidry

Alan Joseph Guidry passed away on November 9, 2024 at his residence in Scott. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home. The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Services will be followed by burial with military color guard at Greenlawn Cemetery.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 31 years Rhonda Hebert Guidry; his daughter Shannon Gary and her husband, Travis; his son Lance Winder and his wife, Christy; and his grandchildren, Austin Champagne, Samantha Gerard, Matthew Gary, Slade Winder and Ronin Winder.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elie Paul Guidry and Helen Timmons Guidry.

Alan was born October 2, 1950. He graduated from Northside High School in 1970 and later attained his associate’s degree. Giving to a fault, his upbringing and patriotic nature led him into a decorated 28-year military career in the United States Navy where he ultimately obtained the rank of Senior Chief. Following his retirement from the military, he continued to serve his country by remaining with the U.S. Navy in a government service capacity. At the end of his career in 2014, Alan retired to Scott, LA.

Honorary pallbearers are Lance Winder, Slade Winder, Ronin Winder, Travis Gary, Matthew Gary and Austin Champagne.

In lieu of flowers the family humbly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Alan’s name at donate.cancer.org.
