Ashton M. Guilbeaux

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Ashton M. Guilbeaux, 72, who passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018.  Father Gary Schexnayder will conduct the services. Lectors will be Michele Thibodeaux and Dina Guardia.  Gift Bearers are Suzie Soileau and Stephanie East-Thibodeaux.  Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation hours will be observed on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., and will resume on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

A rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Guilbeaux is survived by his special friend, Brenda Jens of Opelousas;  one son, Troy Guilbeaux and his husband Aaron L. Smith of Opelousas;  one sister, Gertrude Thibodeaux of Opelousas;  and one brother, Hilton Mark Guilbeaux of Opelousas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Comeaux Guilbeaux;  his parents, Theresa and Saul Guilbeaux;  one brother, Errol Guilbeau;  and four sisters, Ruby Carrier, Eurella Arnaud, Helen Gautreaux, and Jeanette Bellard.
Mr. Guilbeaux was the Owner and Operator of Targil, a company that serviced meat markets, slaughter houses, and boudin kitchens across South Louisiana.  Before owning Targil, he was employed by Cochran Scales, Inc.

Pallbearers will be Quentin Guilbeaux, Duston Guilbeaux, Tommy Arnaud, Gavin Armstrong, Tyler Bergeron, and Jacob Coussan.  Honorary Pallbearers are Hilton Guilbeaux and Cecil Dupre.
