Barbara Chiapetta

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Barbara Chiapetta, 92, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Iberia Manor North. Pastor Chad Thibodeaux, Pastor at Vatican Baptist Church, will officiate the ceremony. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.

Visitation hours will be observed at Walters Funeral Home on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. 

Barbara is survived by four daughters, Mary Hubbard and her husband Joe of Summerdale, AL, Cindy Bailey and her husband Wilson of New Iberia, Stephanie John of Lafayette, and Gail Breaux and her husband Glenn of New Iberia; her daughter-in-law, Robin Haire; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Henry Dumesnil, Sr.; her first husband, Albert Haire; her second husband, Sam Chiapetta; one son, Kenneth Haire; one daughter, Judy Robichaux; four sisters, Nellie Gottschalk, Genevieve Falterman, Grace LeBoeuf, and Gloria Garlotte; three brothers, Henry Dumesnil, Jr., Freddie Dumesnil, and Leroy Dumesnil, Sr.; and two sons-in-law, Paul Robichaux and Harris John.

A native of Franklin, Barbara was a longtime resident of Breaux Bridge. 

The family would like to extend special thanks to Linda Hunt for being a friend and caring for Barbara over the years;  her beautician, Jill Hebert;  her former boss Floyd, and the many friends she worked with at Poche's Market & Smokehouse;  the Staff of Iberia Manor North;  and Hospice of Acadiana.
