Brenda Guidry

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Brenda Guidry, 51, who passed away on April 25, 2012 at Opelousas General Hospital. Reverend Ann Sutton, pastor of Northwood United Methodist Church, will officiate the funeral services. Private inurnment services will be held at a later date in Evangeline Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include her son, James Leroy Edwards, Jr.of Breaux Bridge; her mother, Peggy Greenfield of Carencro; two step-sons, Justin Paul Guidry and Nathan Jude Guidry, both of Sunset, LA; three sisters, Linda Grantham of Kingston, AR, Glenda Dance of Port Barre, LA, and Rhonda Lanclos of Carencro, LA; two brothers, James Greenfield of Springfield, MO, and Eddie Greenfield of Berryville, AR; five grandchildren, Derick Mertell, James Edwards, III, Devon Edwards, Blaine Guidry and Samatha Edwards; two godchildren, Amanda Huval and Bryce Lanclos, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Doyan Greenfield, one sister, Wanda Mertell, and one granddaughter, Trinity Edwards.

Brenda was born on December 13, 1960 to Doyan and Peggy Greenfield in Kennett, Missouri. She lived in Sunset, Louisiana for the past eight years.

Pallbearers for the service will be Arthur Grantham, Lance Huval, James Greenfield, and John Lanclos.

The family requests that visitation be held on Friday from 4:00-9:00 pm, and resume at 10:00 am on Saturday until the time of service.
