A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, May 2, 2022 at 10:30 am in St. Edmond Catholic Church for Dallas Vincent who passed away April 27, 2022. He was 92 years old. Father Gil Dutel will be the celebrant of the funeral mass and conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist will perform "Amazing Grace", "The Lord is My Light", "Ave Maria", "One Bread, One Body", and "You Are Mine." Interment will follow the mass in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.
Survivors include wife, Rose Duhon Vincent of Lafayette; and siblings Rena Andrus of Lafayette and Clarence (Belva) Vincent of Abbeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erite and Edward Vincent; two children, Robert Lee and Mona Faye Vincent;and two sisters, Delta Schexnayder and Dorothy Mire.
Dallas was born in Maurice and lived in Lafayette for most of his life. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the City of Lafayette as an electrician for 25 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Edmond Catholic Church.
Pallbearers for the service will be Ryan Jannise, Chad Gardemal, Gerald Duhon, Garland Lege, Charles Babineaux, and Raymond John Schexnayder. Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Vincent, Elmo Hebert and Ronald "Pip" Schexnayder.
The family requests that visitation be held Sunday, May 1 from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm. A rosary will be prayed Sunday evening at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume at 8:00 am on Monday morning until time of service.
