Dana Aucoin

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 21, 2021 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Dana Louise Aucoin, 60, who passed away May 17, 2021 at her residence. Father Nicholas DePre, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, pianist and soloist, will perform, "Here I Am, Lord", "Hail Mary", "Taste and See", "Ave Maria", and "Old Rugged Cross". Lectors will be Jobie Russell and Sheree Dekerlegand.
Visiting hours will be observed Thursday between the hours of 2:00 - 8:00 pm, and resume Friday morning at 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be led by Annette Richard on Thursday evening at 6:00 pm.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Aucoin of Lafayette; two children, Nicole Sonnier and her husband Doug of Carencro, and Casey Dekerlegand  and his wife Sheree of Breaux Bridge; two sisters, Sandra Guidry of Arnaudville and Victoria Breaux of Opelousas; three brothers, Ronald Guidry and his wife Veronica of Carencro, David Guidry, III  and his wife Kathy of Carencro, and Paul Guidry of Breaux Bridge; and eight grandchildren, Loifey and Reid Sonnier, Gavin and Jackson Zorn, Molly and Bobby Tullos, Lauren Kober, and Hannah-Jo Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the former Edmane Maturin and  David Evans Guidry Jr.; two sisters, Linda Thibodeaux and Dahlonaga Drouet; one brother, Richard Guidry; and one grandson, Tommy Johnson.
Dana was a resident of Lafayette her entire life. She worked for the Lafayette Parish School System in Food Services. She was kind, oftentimes volunteering her time coordinating food delivery for families at funerals. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Doug Sonnier, Casey Dekerlegand, Ryan Thibodeaux, Robert Breaux, Nick Riche, Loifey Sonnier, and Ronald Guidry. Honorary pallbearers include Reid Sonnier and Bobby Tullos.
