Donald Duhon, Sr.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 13, 2021 at 10:00 am in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Donald J. Duhon Sr., 78, who passed away August 9, 2021. Deacon Randy Hyde will conduct the funeral services. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include four daughters, Melanie (Michael) Netto of Carencro, Rainie Romero of Huntsville, Tex., Meagan Duhon of Greenville, Tex., and Leigh (Bobby) Guidry of Youngsville; one brother, David Duhon of Eunice; ten grandchildren, Adam Duhon, Kevin Netto, Randy Netto, Amba Vile, Kyler Girouard, Trey Craig, Michael Craig, Christopher Vystrcil, Hunter Welch, and Hailey Welch; and nine great-grandchildren.
Donald was a native of Abbeville and resident of Carencro for many years. He was loving and passionate about his family and friends and camping out with them. He also enjoyed watching Nascar racing. He worked as an auto mechanic in Acadiana.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Cummings Duhon; son, Donald Duhon, Jr.; and his parents, Opta and Orita Duhon.
Pallbearers will be Adam Duhon, Kevin Netto, Randy Netto, Trey Craig, Michael Craig, Christopher Vystrcil, Hunter Welch, and Hailey Welch.
The family requests that visitation be held Thursday, August 12, 2021 between the hours of 3:00 - 8:00 pm, and resume Friday morning from 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be led by Lou Anne Jacques at 6:00 pm on Thursday evening.
