Dorothy Cormier

Funeral Services will be held at Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Dorothy A. Cormier, 75, who passed away March 22, 2021. Her son, the Rev. Carl Cormier of Victory Family Worship, will conduct the funeral services.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbert Cormier of Scott; her children, Carl Cormier and his wife Ellen of Lafayette, and Tina Cormier of Scott; two sisters, Verna Stiner of Loreauville and Debbie Bearb of Scott; eight grandchildren, Brandi Doucet, Monette Letchworth, Jenna Meche, Spencer Cormier, Dustin Silvertooth, Shawntell Silvertooth, Trent Silvertooth, and Monique Silvertooth; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Monique Lynn Cormier, parents, Bernice and Willis Alleman; and two sisters, Wilma Holloway and Doris Holloway.
Dorothy was a native of Lafayette and resident of Scott for the past 45 years. She was a member of Victory Family Worship in Scott.
Pallbearers will be Spencer Cormier, Dustin Silvertooth, Trent Silvertooth, Norman Silvertooth, Pvt. Eiljah Ness, and Benjamin Ness. Honorary pallbearers include Terry Holloway, Rickey Holloway, Ken Holloway, Brandon Holloway, Damien Domingue, Glenn Thibodeaux, Roland Thibodeaux, Michael Thibodeaux, Jamey Bearb, and Oran Stiner.
The family requests that visitation be held Tuesday, March 23, 2021 between 3:30 - 8:00 pm, and resume Wednesday morning at 8:00 until the time of the service.
