Dr. Jeffrey Spring

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 21, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Jeffrey Spring, 68, who passed away May 15, 2018. Deacon Ken Soignier will conduct the funeral services. Lectors include his son Julian Spring and Ron Bayless. Eulogies will be given by Renee Robichaux, Ernie Elsbury, Clint Fontenot, and Mirais Holden.
Survivors include his wife, Allison Spring of Carencro; son, Julian Spring of Chicago; step- children Grant Pitre of Opelousas, and step-daughter, Allix (Ace) Garcia  and their daughter Liv Marie of The Woodlands. He is also survived by his mother, Joyce Spring; brother, Chris Spring; and sisters, Sandra Price and Valerie Norris, all from Canada.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Wesley Spring.
Jeffrey Spring spent his life educating people, both in heart and in mind. He taught generations of students in biology and physiology for 35 years at UL Lafayette. He also worked as a coach and trainer for Education for Living for over 20 years. A lifelong aviation and model aircraft enthusiast, he spent his free time meticulously crafting and crashing radio controlled airplanes. He was also active in online R/C forums, again sharing his knowledge and experience. He loved being a grandpa (Boska Booskie) to Liv Marie, and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
The family requests that visitation be held Monday from 11:30 until time of service. A light reception will follow the service in The Reminisce Room at Walters Funeral Home.
