Funeral services will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Edna Marie Broussard-Enard, 87, who went home peacefully to be with the Lord on February 25, 2023. Pastor Carl Sonnier will conduct the funeral services. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Edna, also known as “Black, Mother, and Goose”, was born July 28,1935 to Dorville Broussard, Sr. and Fabiola J. Broussard in Parks, Louisiana. She was the tenth of thirteen children. She attended school at Saint Francis of Assisi in Breaux Bridge.
At age 16 Edna met and married Irving Enard. In their union they had 10 children.
Survivors include her eight daughters, Betty Davis, Mary Lee Rodgers, Brenda Files, Linda Pradier, Barbara James, Nettie Enard Carter, Debra Enard, and Stella Enard; one son, Patrick Enard; siblings, Ida Abrems, Robert Broussard, and James Broussard; fifteen grandchildren; and thirty great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving Enard; daughter, Mary Lynn "Tiny" Enard; her parents, Fabolia and Darville Broussard; two grandsons, Terrill and Patrick Enard, Jr.; seven brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Fils, Joseph Pradier Jr., Anthony Davis, Jonathon James, Terrell Enard, and Randell Enard. Honorary pallbearers include Robert Broussard, James Broussard, Bradley Carter, Ian James, Thomas James III, Larry Davis, Joseph Pradier Sr., Earl Carter, and Bernard Rodger.
The family requests that visitation Friday, March 3, 2023, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm.
