A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 3:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Erline Prejean Guidry, who passed away April 25, 2014 at her residence. Reverend Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton in Lafayette will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Dalton Ray Guidry of Lafayette; two daughters, Linda Breaux and her husband Darrel of Nashville, TN, and Sandra Hawk and her partner Jimmy Miller of Henderson; two sons, Robert Wayne Guidry and his partner Scott Vincent of Crowley, and Jamey Ray Guidry and his wife Susan of Breaux Bridge; two sisters, Velma Harper and her husband Douglas or Carencro and Marjorie Harper of Carencro; one brother, Logan Prejean of Carencro, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the former Lovenia Breaux Prejean and Louis "Emick" Prejean.
Mrs. Guidry was a native of Carencro and a resident of Lafayette for 66 years. She was a housewife who enjoyed the holidays and spending time with her family and friends.
The family requests that visitation be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 pm at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home.
