A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 2:00 pm at St. Elizabeth Seton Church for Florence Stelly, 86, who peacefully passed away June 13, 2024 at her home. Father David Hebert, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Bridgette Boudreaux and Philip Boudreaux; gift bearers will be Matthew and Nathan Klock. Jodi Bollich will be the organist and vocalist for the Mass. Interment will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Gregory (Jacquelyn) Stelly of Walland, TN, and Wayne Stelly of Lafayette; one sister, Eleanor Broussard of Henry, LA; brother, Ravis (Miriam) Landry of Henry, LA; four grandchildren, Bridgette (Philip) Boudreaux of Knoxville, TN, Danielle (Patrick) Molloy of South Thomaston, ME, Nathan Klock of Houston, TX, and Matthew Klock of Lafayette, LA; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Boudreaux, Asher Boudreaux, and Evangelynn Boudreaux; her godchild, Rexene Broussard; her brother-in-law, Roy Rogers; and her nephew, Neal Faulk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. McNolan Stelly Cdr. USN Retired; her parents, Marie and Eloi Landry; one daughter, Michelle S. North; one sister, Ruby Nell Rogers; one daughter-in-law, Judith Q. Stelly; and one brother-in-law, Henry Broussard.
Florence was born in Vermilion parish and lived in Lafayette for 44 years. She was a devoted homemaker and parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, serving on their Bereavement Committee for many years. Flo was also recognized by the United States Navy for her service during her husband's 28-year naval career.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Stelly, Wayne Stelly, Nathan Klock, Matthew Klock, Philip Boudreaux, and Patrick Molloy. Honorary pallbearers include Neal Faulk.
The family requests that visitation be held Thursday from 9:00 am - 1:30 pm at Walters Funeral Home.
