Frank Menard, 90, passed away on January 24, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Survivors include his daughter, Gaywynn Gaude and her husband Donald "Don" Bertrand of Lafayette; two sisters, Irene Bonin of Broussard, and Vida Fruge and her husband Joe of Broussard; three brothers, Cleveland Menard of Youngsville, Fred Menard of Lafayette, and Willis Menard and his wife Judy of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; Carisse, Chanel, and Sidonie Gaude, Lyndsay and Carly Bertrand, and Meryl Bertrand Wells; one great-granddaughter, Lillian Jolie Wells; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl Arceneaux Menard, his son Stuart James Menard, his parents Andrew and Laurence Menard, and one brother, Robert Walter Menard.
Frank was a native of Lafayette Parish and resident of Broussard for the past three years. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division during World War II serving in France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, Cajun music, dancing, gardening, and caring for small animals. Frank was always willing to help others with his expertise in electrical work, and enjoyed being a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
