A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church for Mrs. Georgia Albert, 77, who passed away at her residence on Thursday, July 4, 2013. Father Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, will officiate the funeral ceremony. Readers will be Jene’ Boulet, Skyla Faul, and Haleigh Garcia, and gift bearers will be Kerri Albert, McKenzie Collette, and Kassidy Ventress. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Carrol Albert of Lafayette; four daughters, Carol Ann Perrio and her husband Scott of Lafayette, Phyllis Collette and her husband Roddy of Lafayette, Bernadette Faul and her husband Stuart of Hemet, California, and Penny Ventress of Lafayette; one son, Kirk Albert and his wife Phyllis of Lafayette; two sisters, Beaulah Serrette of St. Martinville, and Mary Arton and her husband Dennis of St. Martinville; two brothers, Fred Dupuis and his wife Nell of New Iberia, and Francis “Bose” Dupuis of St. Martinville; 16 grandchildren, Jene’ Boulet, Kassidy Ventress, McKenzie Collette, Kyle Albert, Jared Perrio, Kacey O’Neil, Kristin Carle, Trey Perrio, Kayle Ventress, Skyla Faul, Tyler Ventress, Joshua Faul, Holden Faul, Morgan Perrio, Kerri Albert, and Haleigh Garcia; and six great-grandchildren, Kaden Boulet, Maddox Collette, Karlie Albert, Charli Boulet, Karson Albert, and Kameron O’Neil.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Angelina and Julien Dupuis; and two brothers, Percy Dupuis and Phillip Dupuis; and one brother-in-law, Nolan Serrette.
Georgia was a Parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. She was very spiritual and was a member of her neighborhood rosary group. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, camping, sewing, sports, taking care of children, and spending time with friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Albert, Jared Perrio, Trey Perrio, Tyler Ventress, Joshua Faul, and Holden Faul. Honorary Pallbearers are her four great-grandsons.
The family requests that visitation hours be observed on Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Monday, July 8, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited by her neighborhood rosary group on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
