She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarice and Jesse Bailey.
Jerry was born in Spur, Texas in 1927 to Jesse and Clarice Bailey. She and her family moved to Houston, Texas, where she was educated and met her husband to be, Ted Hornback, in 1946. They married in 1948. The oil industry took them to Louisiana and they settled in Lafayette in 1958 with their two children, Larry and Kay.
Jerry enjoyed community projects, volunteering her time and labor in her children_s schools, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scout activities. She also involved herself in her church (Emmanuel Baptist), bible studies, and Sew and Share Club for many years. She loved traveling in their RV with her husband and friends over most of the USA and Canada.
Jerry had so many good qualities that were experienced by all that knew her. One of these, an important one, was that she was a good listener. Jerry was a continuous ray of sunlight that drew everyone to her positive, loving, and attentive attitude towards life. She unselfishly supported her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends without hesitation. She will be deeply missed in the lives of those she treasured.
Jerry_s faith in God remained strong as she fought a courageous battle until her passing, with friends and family at her side.
