Hazel Lavergne

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Hazel C. Lavergne, who passed away on January 20, 2012 at 11:50 pm, at Lafayette General Medical Center. Reverend Allen Breaux of St. Benedict The Moor Church will officiate the ceremony. Lectors will be Troy Espiritu and Lisa Finnorn; giftbearers, Beau Brewer and Amber Lavergne. Musical selections will include "Amazing Grace," "On Eagles Wings," "Old Rugged Cross," and "Ave Maria." Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Hazel is survived by two daughters, Shirley Espiritu and her husband Jerry of Mobile, AL, and Barbara Lavergne of Lafayette; three sons, Kenneth Lavergne of Scott, Carl Lavergne and his wife Annette of Carencro, and Randy Lavergne and his wife Lois of Breaux Bridge; her siblings, Bernice Borque, Aaron Clark, and Roy Clark, all of Judice; ten grandchildren, Adam and Beau Brewer, Lisa Finnorn, Kim and Troy Espiritu, Jacob, Meghan, Amber, Brock, and Jeremy Lavergne, and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leode Clark, and one daughter, Joe Ann Brewer.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Adam and Beau Brewer, Troy and Kim Espiritu, and Jacob, Brock and Jeremy Lavergne.
The family requests that visitation be held on Monday, January 23, 2012 from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm, and continue on Tuesday morning from 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at Walters Funeral Home on Monday evening at 7:00 pm.
