A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10:00 am in the Sunrise Chapel for Jane Roberts Armentor, who lost her valiant, 19-month battle against Stage 4 pancreatic cancer on July 29, 2015. She was 58 years old. Father Daniel Edwards, pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Adam Armentor and Caroline Berry; gift bearers, Jane Douglas and Anne Ewing. Musical selections performed by Lisa Shepperd and Sydney Ducharme will include "Amazing Grace", "Psalm 25", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "One Bread, One Body", and "How Great Thou Art." Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include husband, Ronald James Armentor of Lafayette; one daughter, Brooke Benoit and her fiance Chad Bowles of Lafayette; her father Harry L. Roberts and his wife Clarity Tuttle of Ponchatoula; one step-daughter, Viki Falgout and her husband Solomon of Sunset; two step-sons, Brian Armentor of Lafayette and Adam Armentor and his wife Rory of Austin, Tex.; two sisters, Sally Begnaud and her husband Brian of Lafayette and Susan Riely of Katy, Tex.; one brother, Michael Roberts and his wife Shea of Boyton Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Alexis Ward, Sadi Ward, Kindi Menard, Blade Armentor, Gracie Comeaux, Magnolia Armentor, Boone Armentor, Kelsey Comeaux and Zoe Comeaux; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Easton, and Eibilene Menard.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Ann Bretzke Roberts.
Jane was born January 1, 1957 the daughter of Harry and the late Beverly Roberts in Lake Charles, later moving to Lafayette. She attended Acadiana High School before moving with her family to Tehran, Iran, where she graduated from Tehran American School. Jane attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now UL-Lafayette) upon returning stateside in 1975. She worked as a Purchasing Agent for Harry Hebert, Lafayette Woodworks, Southern Structures and Ideal Steel before her retirement.
Spending time with family and friends was Jane's favorite past time.. She never met a stranger. She enjoyed cooking and hosting dinner parties, and gardening. She was a strong and courageous woman, and lived her life with a kind and humble heart, always smiling; always ready to give.
Pallbearers will be Chad Bowles, Adam Armentor, Eric Roberts, Dustin Guidry, Jesse Armentor and Corey Berry. Honorary pallbearers include Harry Roberts, Michael Roberts, Mike Douglas and Brian Begnaud.
The family requests that visitation be held Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 2:00 - 9:00 pm, and resume Friday morning at 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be led by Deacon Brady LeBlanc at 6:00 pm on Thursday evening.
