Joan Comeaux

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Joan Comeaux, 88, who passed away August 30, 2022 at her residence. Deacon Ken David will conduct the funeral services. Interment will follow the services in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her husband, Vernal Comeaux of Scott; two sons, Zachary (Shann) Comeaux of Scott and Benjamin (Donna) Comeaux of Rayne; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Millicent Morreau; and parents, Thelma and Harold Dailey.
Joan was a native of Lafayette and resident of Scott for more than 53 years. She was a member of the United States Navy, serving her country in the naval hospitals dotted along the California Coast. She was honorably discharged after four years active duty. She later returned to Lafayette Parish and joined the American Legion Post 69 and the Lafayette Parish Cow Belles, and worked as a medical transcriber for many years. She will be missed by family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin J. Comeaux, Dustin Morreau, Jamie Morreau, John Richard, Jeremy Plaisance, Joshua Adams, Josh Corman, and Jordan Mularski. Honorary pallbearers include John Mickey, Rene Prejean, Sean Dailey, and Allen Dugas.
The family will receive visitors Saturday morning between 8:00 am - 11:30 am at Walters Funeral Home.
