Survivors include his mother, Eugennie Guidry of Lafayette; one daughter, Felicia Guidry of Austin; two sisters, Linda Peschier of Lafayette and Debra Venable and her husband Donald of Cankton; two brothers, Jimmy Guidry of Lafayette and Michael Guidry and his wife Catherine of Erwinville, La.; and two godchildren, Adam Guidry and Chris Guidry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph E. Guidry; one brother, John Guidry; and his brother-in-law, Michael A. Peschier.
Carl was born in Lafayette and lived in Butte La Rose for the past 20 years. He was the "crazy uncle" everyone loved and was always the life of the party. He loved telling jokes and had people laughing all the time. He was an avid fisherman who always caught "the biggest fish". He was a master in the kitchen, whether cooking for two or twenty. He was a big NY Yankees fan, and loved his pet bird, Chrissy.
Carl's greatest passion was his motorcycle. He loved his Harley's. On beautiful days you could find him riding through back country roads.
Carl was a gifted treater and healed may people through the power of prayer. He fiercely loved his family and there isn't any one who didn't love "Uncle Carl." He was the best brother and friend to everyone, and will be truly missed.
Pallbearers will be Michael Guidry, Donald Venable, Joseph Peschier, Jason Peschier, Brandon Peschier, and Adam Guidry. Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Guidry, Shawn Thompson, Donnie Venable, Michael John Guidry, and Chris Guidry.
The family requests that visitation be held Tuesday April 5 from 5:00 - 9:00 pm. A rosary will be led by Sr. Doris Roy, S.E.C. at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening. Visitation will resume Wednesday morning at 9:00 am until service time.
