Joseph M. Venable

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Joseph M. Venable, 84, who passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.  Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate the funeral ceremony.  A rosary will be prayed on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.

Visitation hours will be observed at Walters Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Venable;  one daughter, Phyllis Forestier;  one brother, Herbert Venable;  two grandchildren, Crystal Underwood and her husband Kevin, and Derek Forestier and his wife Paige;  and three great-grandchildren, Logan Underwood, Lane Underwood, and Bailee Forestier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raoul and Rosella Venable;  one daughter, Priscilla Venable;  three sisters, Sadie Vanicor, Telmay Venable, and Jane Arceneaux;  and his mother-in-law, Ledia Granger.

Pallbearers will be Joe Branch, Dexter Burleigh, Derek Forestier, Paul Hollis, Nick Menard, and Marcus Vanicor.
