Joycie "Joyce" Begnaud

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 2:30 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Joycie "Joyce" Begnaud, 89, who passed away July 11, 2021. Father Gil Dutel will conduct the funeral services. Melanie Brewer will be the lector, and Jodi Bollich will perform, "Amazing Grace", "Shepherd Me, Oh God," "I Will Never Forget My People", "Make Me A Channel of Your Peace", and "On Eagle's Wings". Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until services. A rosary will be led by Sr. Doris Roy, S.E.C. at 10:30 am at the funeral home.
Survivors include her two sisters Jeanette Dore and Lois Wiltz, and her niece Melanie Brewer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Letha and Espera Begnaud; two sisters, Vesta Sellers and Hazel Hebert; and two brothers, Raymond Begnaud and John Harold Begnaud.
Joyce was a native of Scott, La. and lived there most of her life. She was a Sister of the Most Holy Sacrament for 36 years (1952 - 1988). She taught in catholic schools for 30 years; the last 15 years at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau. She retired from teaching in 2000.
Joyce would say her greatest joy in her life was being a "stand in" grandmother to the Boutin children: Dillon, Delaney, Derek and Devin Boutin. She loved them dearly and will be missed by all.
Pallbearers for the service will be  Donnie, Derek and Devin Boutin; Kevin Dore, Gregory Wiltz, Caleb Bruce, and Jeff LeBlanc.
Joyce asked that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Academy of the Sacred Heart Library, 1821 Academy Rd., Grand Coteau, LA 70541; or to the library of your choice.
