Kathleen Stout

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023 at St. Edmond Catholic Church for Kathleen Stout, 96, who passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023.   The Rev. Steven C. LeBlanc will officiate the ceremony. Interment will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens at Gallant Fields.

Visitation hours will be observed on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Walters Funeral Home.  A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. 

Kathleen is survived by two daughters, Cheryl “Cherie” Bourg of Lafayette, and Jeannie Henderson (James) of Lafayette;  two sons, William “Bill” Stout of Lafayette, and Keith Stout of Athens, GA;  two sisters, Norma Puett of Ft. Worth, TX,  and Glennene Turner (Martin) of Ft. Worth, TX;  four grandchildren, Michelle Laiche (Barry), Michael Bourg (Dawn), Christian Broussard (Kelli), and Elizabeth Ladd (Stan);  twelve great-grandchildren, Taylor Laiche (Alissa), Brennen Laiche, Barry “Brody” Laiche, Camille Laiche, Benjamin Bourg, Ethan Bourg, Caroline Bourg, Matthew Broussard, Beckett Broussard, Bradley Jumonville, Emily Jumonville, and Zachary Ladd;  and six great-great-grandchildren, April Laiche, Rosalie Laiche, Ryder Laiche, Barry "Brexley" Laiche, Brin Laiche, and Jules Laiche.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Kenneth W. Stout;  her parents, Glenn and Irene Peck;  and one sister, Marie Bridges.

Kathleen and her husband were the founders of Catholic Engaged Encounter in the Diocese of Lafayette, and she was a loyal Parishioner of St. Edmond Catholic Church.  She was the fashion coordinator for JC Penny, and enjoyed painting, sewing, and various arts and crafts.
