Kenneth Babineaux

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church for Kenneth B. Babineaux, 53, who passed away July 30, 2015 at his residence. The Reverend Monsignor Robie Robichaux, pastor of St. Leo the Great, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Kenneth Babineaux, II and Janice Broussard; giftbearers, Garrett Breaux and Dallas Babineaux. Interment will follow the mass in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Babineaux is survived by his wife, Cheryl Pepper Babineaux of Lafayette; two sons, Kenneth Burleigh Babineaux, II and Dallas-Tyler Leo Babineaux, both of Lafayette; one sister, Tina Babineaux Breaux of Duson; and one brother, Richy Babineaux of Greenbriar, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the former Juanita Sonnier and Dallas Leo Babineaux.
Kenneth was a native of Abbeville and resident of Lafayette for the past 50 years. He was a parishioner at St. Leo the Great Church, member of the Knights of Columbus- Teurlings Council, and a retired school bus driver for Lafayette Parish.
Pallbearers will be David Aloisio, Kenneth Babineaux, II, Dallas-Tyler Babineaux, Gary Breaux, Garrett Breaux, Ricky Babineaux, Ben Sonnier, and Shawn Pepper. Honorary pallbearers include Nolvey Stelly, Chris Boudreaux, and Mike Thibodeaux.
The family requests that visitation be held at Walters Funeral Home on Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 2:00 - 9:00 pm, and resume Monday morning from 8:00 - 10:30 am. A rosary will be led by the Knights of Columbus at the funeral home Sunday evening at 5:30 pm.
Memorial contributions can be made in Kenneth's name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
