Kenneth "Ken" Joseph Haire

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Kenneth “Ken” Joseph Haire, 70, who passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022.   Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate the ceremony.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.

Visitation hours will be observed on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m.  A rosary will be prayed on Thursday afternoon at 12:00 p.m.

Ken is survived by his wife, Robin Weekly Haire of Lafayette;  one daughter, Melissa Haire Trahan and her husband Blaise of Youngsville;  one son, Rocky Paul Haire and his wife Jill of Breaux Bridge;  one step-daughter, Amanda Kay Lavender and her husband Jason of Lake Charles;  one step-son, Brandon Paul Weekly of Lafayette;  his mother, Barbara Dumesnil Chiapetta of Breaux Bridge;  four sisters, Mary Haire Hubbard and her husband Joe of Robertsdale, AL,  Cindy Haire Bailey and her husband Sonny of New Iberia,  Gail Haire Breaux and her husband Glenn of New Iberia,  and Stephanie Haire John of Lafayette;  three grandchildren, Jesse, Cole, and Hayden;  and four step-grandchildren, Kaleb, Tristan, Abel, and Stella;  and the mother of his children, Marlene Brasseaux Haire.

He is preceded in death by his father, Albert T. Haire;  and one sister, Judy Haire Robichaux.

Ken worked offshore for many years as a compressor mechanic.  He was a very outgoing and social person, and enjoyed being with his friends, making jokes, and making people laugh.  In his free time he could usually be found outdoors, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and running.  He also enjoyed cutting his grass and waxing his car.

Pallbearers are Mike Hebert, Jason Lavender, Tristan Lavender, Brian St. Germain, Karen St. Germain, Blaise Trahan, and John Woollen.
