Catholic funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Lucille Barnes Melancon, 91, who passed away on August 5, 2015. Deacon Brady LeBlanc will conduct the services. Concluding her service Lucille will be laid to rest at St. John's Cemetery.
She is survived by three children, Clarence Melancon Jr., (Irene), Joanie Cook, and Gilbert Melancon; one sister, Georgie Adams; four granddaughters and six great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Melancon Sr.; her parents, George and Mabel Barnes; sister, Marguerite Rabalais; and her brother, Paul Barnes.
Pallbearers for the service will be Clarence Melancon Jr., Blake Cook, Chance Talbott, Lane Perry, Michael Tinnell, and Paul Barnes Jr.
The family requests that visitation be held at Walters Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be led by Deacon LeBlanc at noon.
