Lucille "Sweet" Hernandez

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at Walters Funeral Home in the Sunrise Chapel for Lucille “Sweet” Hernandez, 95, who passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.  Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate the ceremony.  Interment will take place immediately following the service in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Scott, LA.

Visitation hours will be observed at Walters Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m. 

Lucille is survived by two daughters, Martha M. Acosta and Francine A. Hernandez;  two grandchildren, Jesse Acosta (Krystal) and Camille Acosta (Carlos);  and three great-grandchildren, Grant Acosta, Dean Acosta, and Emma Acosta.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Hernandez;  her parents, Marie and Davis Arceneaux;  one sister, Saffer Domingue;  and two brothers, Teddy and Stephen “Doo” Arceneaux.

Lucille was born and raised in Scott, Louisiana.  She was the Owner/ Operator of Sweet’s Flower Shop of Scott for many years.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Acosta, Frank Arceneaux, Ronnie Landry, Larry Leake, Richard Owens, and Carlos Pine.  Honorary pallbearers are Mike Matthieu and Mitch Matthieu.
