Luda Marie Stutes

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Luda Marie Stutes, 90, who passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022.   The Rev. Steven C. LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Basil Catholic Church, will officiate the ceremony.  A rosary will be prayed on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be immediately following the service in St. Basil Catholic Cemetery in Judice.

Visitation hours will be observed on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 1:30 p.m.

Luda is survived by one daughter, Patsy Boulanger (Gus) of Judice;  three sons, Daniel Stutes (Tammera Flewharty) of Austin, TX,  Randel “Punchie” Stutes of Judice, and Sonny Stutes (Ellen) of Judice;  one sister, Leota Lester of Breaux Bridge;  eight grandchildren, John Hebert, Jake Overfelt, Elizabeth Overfelt, Josh Boulanger, Tonia Stutes, Kristin Brinson, Ann-Marie Stutes, and Emily Stutes;  and nine great-grandchildren, Amie Hebert, Adam Hebert, Cade Overfelt, Cooper Overfelt, Karley Overfelt, Ty Richard, Isabella Deras, Gabriel Brinson, and Nathaniel Brinson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J.Y. Stutes;  one daughter, Cynthia Overfelt;  one son, Tommy Stutes;  two sisters, Fabiola Huval and Eula Mae Usie;  and five brothers, Holden, Noah, Stanley, Willis, and Bernard LeBlanc.

In her free time, Luda enjoyed sewing, taking care of her grandchildren, and spending time with friends and family.
