Monty Sonnier

A gathering of friends will be held for Mr. Monty Sonnier, 62, who passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 6, 2013.  Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 8:00am until 8:00pm at Walters Funeral Home.  A rosary will be recited at 6:00pm.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Sonnier;  two daughters, Kim Fike and her friend James Fontenot of Lafayette,  and Crystal Sonnier of Lafayette;  one sister, Linda Young and husband Joe of Church Point;  four brothers, Roy Deranger and wife Shirley of Lafayette,  Kenneth Sonnier of Church Point,  Toup Sonnier and wife Pam of Youngsville,  and Johnny Sonnier and wife Winnie of Lafayette;  three grandchildren, Kelsie Duplechin and husband Trent of Carencro,  Shelbie Fike and fiancée Joey Winn of Lafayette,  and Madilyn Sonnier of Lafayette;  and three great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Kammi, and Skye.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Ovia Sonnier;  and one sister, Joyce Dekerlagand.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Hospice Compassus, and friends Laura Pardee, Emily Haure, and Desiree Leger.
