Nettie Irwin Broussard

Lafayette resident Nettie Irwin Broussard passed away April 13, 2024. She was 89 years old. A visitation celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 9:00 am - 11:15 am at Walters Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens at 11:30 am. Pastor Chris Jeffus of Bridgeway Hospice will conduct the graveside service.

Survivors include her children, Laura Guidry and George (Debra) Broussard Jr., both of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Thomas Justin Guidry III, David Phillips Guidry, Kevin George Guidry, Christopher George Broussard, Katherine LeBlanc, and Jaclyn Broussard; and seven great-grandchildren, Taylor LeBlanc, Arcadia Guidry, Lachlan Guidry, Savage Broussard, Zoey Ledet, Harley Ledet, and Ivy Ledet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Broussard Sr., her parents, Beatrice and Clifford Irwin; one brother; one sister; and her great-granddaughter, Aylee LeBlanc.

Nettie was born in New Orleans in 1934. She lived in Lafayette all her life. She was an avid card player and enjoyed playing bingo. She will be dearly missed.

Pallbearers will be Jason LeBlanc, Christopher Broussard, Kevin Guidry, Thomas Guidry, and David Guidry.
