A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery for Ravis “Ray” Duhon, 85, who passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021. Deacon Cody Miller will officiate the ceremony. Interment will immediately follow the service.
Ray is survived by his wife Priscilla LeBlanc Duhon of Lafayette; one daughter, Annette Duhon of Lafayette; two sons, Garry Duhon and his wife Kathy of Lafayette, and Gordon Duhon of Santa Barbara, CA; one sister, Merlene Sonnier of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Heather Duhon, Hally Frederick and her husband Jake, Brandon Duhon, Ashley Grimmett, Eric Grimmett and his wife Christina, and Joseph Ray Duhon; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Noah Duhon and Una Stutes Duhon; his maternal grandparents, Romain and Laurence Guilbeau Stutes; his paternal grandparents, Alcide and Elizabeth Duhon; and his brother-in-law, Dalton Sonnier.
Ray was a native of Judice, and a current resident of Lafayette. He was employed in Sales and Management by Security Rockbit Division of Dresser Industries for many years, and was a member of the Louisiana National Guard. Ray was also a Parishioner at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
In his free time, Ray loved listening and dancing to Cajun and Country music, and going to festivals. He enjoyed traveling (especially going on cruises), and he loved Mardi Gras, golfing, watching sports, and spending time with his grandchildren.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff at Pelican Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation, and Traditions Hospice.
