A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church for Rebecca “Becky” Meyers, 68, who passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Father Travis Abadie will officiate the ceremony. Inurnment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral mass.
Visitation hours will be observed at Walters Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be prayed on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Becky is survived by her husband of 48 years, Thomas Meyers of Carencro; one daughter, Andrea Meyers and her husband Joseph Beran of Carencro; two sons, Benjamin Meyers and his wife Quentilla of Houston, TX, and Timothy Meyers and his wife Jaime of Yorktown, VA; two sisters, Gwendolyn Hurley of Carencro, and Annette Gilley and her husband Tom of West Monroe, LA; four grandchildren, Morgan Danyus, Thomas Danyus, Jacob Meyers, and Olivia Meyers; and one great-grandchild, Ila West.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Mildred and Clarence Baker; her father, Earl Brumfield; two sisters, Earline Bryant and Annamarie Tyler; and one brother, Dwight Brumfield.
Born in Monroe, Louisiana, Becky was raised in Alexandria and is a graduate of Bolton High School. Living most of her adult life in Lafayette, she was a Parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir for nearly 40 years.
In her free time, Becky loved music, being around people, and spending time with her grandchildren.
