Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens for Robert Evan Hansch, 83, who passed away January 17, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Father William Schambough, associate pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include two daughters, Caren Hansch of Modesto, CA, and Sallie (Wayne) Billiodeaux of Kissimmee, FL; two sons, Tim Evan (Lisa) Hansch of Manchester, MO, and John Robert (Julie) Hansch of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda, Norman, and Danielle Hansch and Dylan Billiodeaux; one great-granddaughter, Kallie Neilsen; and his special friend Patricia Noble Hurst of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Ross Hansch, and one brother, Jerrald Hansch.
A native of Milwaukee, Wisconson and resident of Lafayette since 1981, Robert loved music and loved to dance. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country honorably in the Korean War. He played saxophone in the U.S.O., and was employed by the Independent Grocery Association.
Pallbearers will be Tim Hansch, John Hansch, Wayne Billiodeaux, Bill Roza, Dallas Matte, and Scott Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry St. Pierre, Dick Taylor, Jerry Gros, Aurelian Thibodeaux, Joseph Costantino, and Hector Verdeflor.
The family requests that visitation be held Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 3-6 pm, and resume Thursday morning at 8 am until time of service.
