Roberta Silvetti

After fighting a long-term illness,  Roberta Jennie Silvetti passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on December 8, 2021 surrounded by family. She was 64 years old.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home. Pastor Brandon Carbine of Grace Lutheran Church will conduct the services. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 8:00 am until services.

Born in Rome, NY on January 31, 1957 to Royce and Mirandia Staves, Roberta grew up on Cross Gates Road and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1975. She married A1C John D. Silvetti II of Griffiss Air Force Base in 1977 and relocated to Louisiana in 1980. She began working for Guaranty Bank, later transferring to the Lafayette Parish School System, where she spent 17 years in Census and Attendance. She also served as an HSE supervisor for the JD Silvetti Group of Companies.

She is survived by John, two daughters, Marianne Voorhies and her husband Kim Jr.,  and Christina Marie Silvetti; one son,  John D. Silvetti III; and four granddaughters, Isabella Ann, Giulyana Marie, Gabriella Marie and Faith Elizabeth. She is also survived by her twin brother Robert and his children Christopher, Rondi, Dakota, Dawson, John and Jarret.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson John Joseph Voorhies.

The family expresses a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for their unending compassion and professionalism.
