Ronald “Ronnie” L. Meche
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Mr. Ronald “Ronnie” L. Meche, 65, who passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013. The Reverend Brian Taylor, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will officiate the mass.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Deborah Meche of Lafayette; one son, Michael Meche and his wife Clara “Mikki” of Lafayette; two brothers, Albert Meche and his wife Gwen of Church Point, and James Meche of Church Point; three grandchildren, Dallas Landry, Victoria Meche, and Alexandra Meche; his step-mother, Ethel Meche of Eunice; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Lastie Meche.
Mr. Meche is a Veteran of the United States Navy, and a member of the American Legion. In his free time, he enjoyed visiting with friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Michael Meche, Albert Meche, James Meche, Dallas Landry, Jayce Meche, and Gale Meche. Honorary Pallbearers are Mitchell Dautreiul and Jim Miller.
The family requests that visitation hours be observed on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
