Russie "Rusty Martin

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for 88-year-old Russie “Rusty” Cecile Duhon who died November 3, 2018 at her residence in Scott.  She was lovingly surrounded by her family who say Russie lived her life to the fullest.  Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery on W. Pinhook Road.  Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate the funeral service.  Lectors will be Cheryl Moore and Brandy Scantlin.

Russie was born in Maurice April 1, 1930 to Irving “Pete” Duhon and Edmae H. Duhon.  She was a longtime resident of Lafayette and was employed in the service industry for many years as owner of Rusty’s Second Stop in Lafayette and was loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by five daughters; Billie Guidry and husband, Darrell; Connie Quartana and husband, Phil; Cheryl Moore and husband, Charles; Janice Lavergne; Dana Johnson and husband, James; one son, Troy Martin; one sister; Elgin D. Leleux; 16 grandchildren; Linnette Guidry, Brandy Scantlin, Shannon Tew, Travis Menard, Craig Moore, Cory Moore, Cheri Savini, Neal “Bubba” Smith; Jessica McKenzie; Christopher Smith, James “L.J.” Johnson, Brittany Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Seth Johnson, Tori Martin and Tara Martin; 26 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends whom she considered family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Barbara Menard; two sons-in-law, Jimmy Menard and Rayford Lavergne, two grandsons, Jason Picard and Rowdy Menard; two infant grandchildren; a brother, Rodley Duhon and two sisters, Deanna Richard and Alberta Matte.

Serving as pallbearers will be Darrell Guidry, Charles Moore, Randall Picard, Travis Menard, James Johnson, Troy Martin and Neal “Bubba” Smith.

The family will accept visitors beginning at 8 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday, Nov., 6.  A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m.
