Steve Simon

Steve Simon, beloved Deacon, faithful husband, devoted father, and loving "Pop" left this earth on January 20, 2022.
Steve is survived by his wife, Mary Domingue-Simon; his sons, Philip and Duane, his daughters-in-law, Kait and Carmon; his beautiful granddaughters, Lydia and Lily Grace; and his younger sister Judy.
Steve lived his life devoted to God and his family. He was a Deacon for St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church and St. Benedict of the Moor Catholic Church for almost 20 years. He was a teacher and counselor for over 40 years in Lafayette and Vermilion Parish schools. Nothing gave Pop more joy than to travel with his family and spend time with his granddaughters. He is and has been loved and respected by his community and anyone who has had the privilege to know him. He will be greatly missed.
The viewing and greeting of friends and family will be held Sunday January 23, 2022 from 2-8 pm, and resume Monday at 11 am at Walters Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 6 pm on Sunday evening. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 2 pm at St. Theresa's Church in Duson, followed by the interment in the church's cemetery.
