A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Vilma Torres, 63, who passed away on February 3, 2012. Reverend Allen Breaux of St. Benedict The Moor Church will officiate the ceremony. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Vilma was born to Andres and Alicia Irachez of Honduras on July 8, 1948. She was a resident of Lafayette for the past six years.
She is survived by her husband Antonio Torres; her son Anthony Bryan Torres; and her siblings Digna Flores, Iliana Irachez, Dalila Irachez, Rita Irachez, Andres Irachez, and Jaime Irachez.
Vilma was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Alicia Irachez, and one brother, Freddy Irachez.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jaime Irachez, Antonio Torres, Anthony Torres, Aleo Cruz, Jose Rodriguez, Sr., and Jose Rodriguez, Jr.
The family requests that visitation be held on Monday, February 3, 2012 from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm at Walters Funeral Home.
