A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 1:00 pm at First Lutheran Church for Wilimena Hurling, 90, who passed away August 5, 2017. Pastor Rob Miller will lead the service. Bobby Anderson will deliver the message entitled "The Great Imitator," and her close friend Virginia Poe will give the eulogy. Musicians include Katherine Schendel, organist; Natalie Cornejo, violin and guitar; and Colton Johnson, trombone. Musical selections include "Amazing Grace", "Beautiful Savior", "Jesus Loves Me", "Rock of Ages", "Softly and Tenderly", and "How Great Thou Art".
Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service in the church, from noon until 1:00 pm.
Survivors include five daughters, , Edna M. Hurling, Nancy K. Anderson, Rita H. Taylor, Wilma H. Dooley and her husband George, and Diana H. Dunaway and her husband John; one son, Edward R. Hurling and his wife Debra; two foster children, Earl Hayley and Kathy Manno; one brother, Donald Swanson and his wife Gail; fifteen grandchildren, Barney, Stephen, J.D., Bobby, Tommy, Cindy, Brad, Paul, Erika, Angie, Jason, Brandon, Brent, Jeannie, and Laurie; twenty-two great-grandchildren, Colton, Morgan, Cameron, Connor, Michael, Jacob, Andrew, Caylee, Jackson, Sean, Natalie, Megan, Jake, Marie, Lewis, Amelia, Evelyn, Katie, Jeanne, Dustin, Joshua, and Taylor; and one great-great grandchild, Adelynn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur E. Hurling; her parents, the former Edna and Eric Swanson; three brothers, Eric Jr., Carl, and Ernest; and one sister, Ida Mae.
The family requests that memorial contribution be made in Wilimena's name to Heart of Hospice or St. Joseph Hospice.
